DESCRIPTION:If your schedule allows\, and you’re interested in comics\, Wikipedia metadata\, and digital humanities projects\, please consider registering at the link below. The registration deadline is September 27. No prior experience with wiki-editing or wikidata is necessary. You can find more details in the attached flyer and in the forwarded email below\, and please feel free to share this event with others who might be interested \nParticipants can go to our website (linked on the flyer and above) to register. The Wikidata section of our website will be one of our primary hubs of information for the event\, so we will periodically be updating it with more information in the coming weeks. Registration is a three-step process with all relevant links and forms on our website: \n\nCreate an account on Wikidata\nComplete the first three of Wikidata’s tutorial Tours\nComplete the GP Wikidata Registration (which requires your Wikidata username)\n\nAs we get closer to the event\, we will also be sending out invitations to registered participants for Discord\, which is where we will be hosting much of the synchronous communication for the event\, as it allows voice/text communication. The general Discord link is provided in case anyone wants to become familiar with the app ahead of time. It operates similarly to Slack\, but with a voice option. We are also in the process of putting together some helpful how-to documents related to our specific event\, which we hope to circulate later in the month. DESCRIPTION:Rain Taxi is proud to present its twentieth annual Twin Cities Book Festival! While it won’t be packing two buildings at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds as usual\, the nonprofit organization is unveiling a virtual version of its beloved book celebration instead. “It’s been a challenge\, but we are about challenge\,” says Rain Taxi Executive Director and the TCBF’s artistic director\, Eric Lorberer. “And we are excited to pivot to a digital format in this anniversary year because it will allow our loyal crowd of home-town festival goers to come together with our friends across the country\, and even the world.” \nThe 2020 TCBF features a lineup of over three dozen authors writing in a wide variety of genres\, and for a wide variety of ages. This year’s Twin Cities Book Festival will feature many authors such as those below; for a complete list of authors participating\, click here.
